Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT has formalized a new international partnership with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Thailand through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on February 19, 2026 in an online ceremony held via Zoom, further advancing academic collaboration and mobility between the two institutions. This makes KMITL the fourth university from Thailand with which Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT has established an institutional partnership.
Signed by Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT Chancellor Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, JD, LL.D., and KMITL Executive Vice President for Chumphon Campus Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siriwan Srisang, the MOU seeks to develop academic and educational cooperation on the basis of equality and reciprocity and to promote sustainable partnerships and mutual understanding between Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT and KMITL.

Under the MOU, Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT and KMITL commit to explore joint initiatives that include student exchange for research and study, exchange of faculty, staff, and research scholars, joint research activities, continuing education programs, and participation in seminars, symposia, short-term academic programs, and academic meetings. The collaboration also covers the exchange of research and educational materials, publications and academic information, technical assistance, and the creation and marketing of electronic instructional media for both credit and non-credit courses.
To ensure effective implementation, both universities have designated coordinators who will serve as liaison officers for activities under the MOU. At KMITL, the primary coordinator is appointed from KMITL-Chumphon, with Dr. Raymund T. Palayon, Lecturer of General Education at KMITL-Chumphon, as designated liaison officer. At Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT, the primary coordinator is appointed from the College of Arts and Social Sciences, and Dr. Irish Mae Fernandez-Dalona, Chairperson of the Department of English and Director of the Center for General Education, serving as liaison officer.

Starting June, the partnership’s initial activity will involve the on-the-job training of 30 BA English Language Studies students who will be deployed to KMITL for training.
The MOU will be in force for five years from the date of the last signing and may be extended by the written consent of both parties, allowing the institutions to build a long-term international cooperation framework.
