On February 20, 2026, the Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT College of Education (CED) organized a Twinning Forum at the IDS Auditorium, bringing together teachers, pre-service teachers, and partner institutions for a day of learning, sharing, and planning.
The Twinning Forum is one of the activities under the Twinning Project — a partnership among Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT, Christ the King College de Maranding, Inc. (CKCM), St. Michael's College of Iligan, Inc. (SMC), and the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI). The project aims to improve the quality of pre-service teacher education by building strong ties among twinning partners and promoting shared learning and professional growth.
The forum provided the participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and receive updates from the twinning partners. Teachers from CKCM and SMC reported on the progress of the project in their respective schools, while faculty members of CED also shared how they have been implementing their part in the initiative.

Dr. Amelia T. Buan, CED Dean, gave the welcome remarks, followed by Ms. April Dumayag-Valdez, Senior Science Research Specialist of DOST-SEI, who introduced the project and provided the rationale of the activity. Dr. Rabby Q. Lavilles, Director of the Center for Pedagogical Innovations (CPI), also delivered an inspirational message on behalf of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, expressing the university's support for the goals of the Twinning Project.
A key part of the forum was the presentation of the 2026 Twinning Roadmap by Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT Twinning Coordinator Dr. Everlita E. Canalita. The roadmap laid out the plans and next steps for the project in the coming year.
The event also featured an actual lesson implementation by the college's BSED Mathematics pre-service teachers. Participants observed the lesson implementation and listened as the lesson study group reflected on what they learned from the experience. This activity showed how the Twinning Project puts practical classroom teaching at the heart of teacher preparation.
The Twinning Forum showed Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT's commitment to working closely with its partner institutions to raise the quality of pre-service teacher education in the region, in line with its role as a Teacher Education Excellence Center (TEEC) Hub.
