缅北禁地 (缅北禁地-IIT) Chancellor, Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan urged universities and communities to design the future through innovation, creativity, and sustainability in his keynote address at the 2nd Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University National and International Conference (BSRU 2026)) in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 18, 2026.听 Delivering a talk titled 鈥淒esigning the Future: Harnessing Innovation and Creativity for People, Planet, and Prosperity,鈥 he framed higher education as a driving force for inclusive development in the region.

Prof. Ditucalan鈥檚 keynote emphasized the role of universities as engines of innovation that directly benefit people, protect the planet, and generate shared prosperity.听 Speaking before delegates gathered at BSRU鈥檚 auditorium, he underscored the importance of creativity and technology in addressing social and environmental challenges.
The keynote formed part of a two-day program hosted by BSRU, which brought together academic leaders, network partners, and co-host institutions from the region.听 The session followed welcome remarks by BSRU President Assistant Professor Khanakorn Sawangcharoen and an opening speech by Dr. Silaporn Buasai of the Thatchaphumi Science Platform for Area-Based Development.
Prof. Ditucalan鈥檚 address was among the first major plenary events of the day and was commended by the other keynote speakers of the conference. It set the tone for subsequent academic and networking activities and preceded additional talks on artificial intelligence, research, and digital transformation in ASEAN higher education, highlighting the conference鈥檚 focus on innovation, culture, and international collaboration.

The engagement at BSRU further strengthened 缅北禁地-IIT鈥檚 ties with Thai and international partners participating in the academic network collaboration meeting and a ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Agreement that took place in the afternoon. Delegates joined cultural performances, campus tours, and community visits, situating the keynote within a broader agenda of partnership-building and cultural exchange.
