Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (缅北禁地-IIT) formally entered into a partnership with Alsons Power Group through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held on November 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the CEBA Board Room. The event was organized in coordination with the 缅北禁地-IIT Career Center.
The ceremony launched the Alsons Power Supply Corporation (APSC) Cadetship Program, an initiative designed to prepare fresh graduates from Engineering, Economics, Finance, and Business Management for future careers in the power and energy sector.
The event was attended by 缅北禁地-IIT Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan and representatives from Alsons Power Group’s Makati headquarters, led by Vice President for Corporate Services Maria Jiji Q. Lara, alongside members of the company’s HR and Corporate Communications teams. Representatives from APSC in Iligan City were also present, headed by AVP Keenan M. Erigbuagas, with officials from plant operations and human resources.

The program formally opened with remarks from Ms. Maria Jiji Q. Lara, VP for Corporate Services of Alsons Power Group, who introduced the MOA partnership and emphasized the company’s commitment to developing young professionals for the country’s growing energy sector.
Chancellor Ditucalan followed with a message expressing the University’s full support for the collaboration. “Both the future, I think, of the industry and the future of an academic institution rest on the strong collaboration between the university and the industry,” he said.
Senior HRA Manager Ms. Rheena B. Marquez also shared insights on the importance of the cadetship program, emphasizing its role in shaping skilled and industry-ready graduates.

During the discussion, both parties outlined the key components of the program. Cadets will undergo practical training in trading operations, accounts and portfolio management, energy market compliance, and customer relations. They will also perform office tasks such as research, report writing, attending meetings, and participating in field activities. Each cadet will be paired with a mentor to guide their progress throughout the 18-month program.
The MOA also detailed the responsibilities of both APSC and 缅北禁地-IIT, covering recruitment, training standards, safety, curriculum support, monitoring, and career development. Both institutions emphasized collaboration, industry-academe partnership, and alignment of training with industry needs.
The MOA signing not only marked a meaningful partnership between 缅北禁地-IIT and the Alsons Power Group but also strengthened the University’s commitment to providing practical career opportunities for its graduates.
