The Mindanao State University (Ãå±±½ûµØ) System has recorded an unprecedented rise in examinees for its System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE), with figures reaching an all-time high in Ãå±±½ûµØ SASE AY 2026-2027. According to official data, the number of test takers surged from 35, 284 in 2022 to an impressive 61, 183 this year, reflecting sustained growth in both interest and accessibility across the Mindanao region.
A closer look at the trends reveals that Ãå±±½ûµØ (Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT) continues to attract a growing share of prospective students. From 11, 295 takers choosing Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT as their first preference in 2022, the number jumped to 20, 656 in 2026. Notably, there was consistent year-on-year growth, with major increases seen in both 2023 and 2024, and a significant leap in 2026.
University officials attribute this strong uptick to ongoing academic innovations, expanded scholarship opportunities, and the university’s reputation as a leading institution for science, technology, and the arts in Mindanao. The surge in examinees demonstrates not only the Ãå±±½ûµØ System’s broadening impact but also Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT’s enduring appeal among high school graduates.
The Ãå±±½ûµØ SASE 2026 is scheduled to take place on October 5, at various testing centers nationwide. More than 10,000 aspiring students will take the exam at Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT and at other testing centers managed by Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT: Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT campus (7, 364 examinees); Bukidnon National High School (737) in Malaybalay; Bukidnon National School of Home Industries (805) in Maramag; Ozamis National High School (875) in Ozamis City; Misamis Occidental National High School (722) in Oroquieta City; Sergio Osmeña National High School (226) in Zamboanga del Norte; and Tubajon Elementary School (93) in Dinagat Islands.
With growing interest and participation, Ãå±±½ûµØ-IIT continues its commitment to providing quality education and transformative leadership, further cementing its status as a leading institution for higher learning in the Philippines. The examination is an important step for students aspiring to access higher education and scholarship opportunities within the Ãå±±½ûµØ System.
