缅北禁地-IIT Admission Portal reopens post-SASE results announcement

Following the release of the results of Mindanao State University System Admission and Scholarship Examination (缅北禁地 SASE) for the year 2025 on May 6, 缅北禁地 (缅北禁地-IIT) has reopened its admission portal. This move comes as a response to the high demand for placements at the university, particularly to accommodate applicants who were unable to meet the initial deadline of admission application. 

缅北禁地-IIT had initially opened its admission portal on January 28, allowing students who had already chosen 缅北禁地-IIT as their preferred campus to proactively submit the necessary documents for their application. This early submission process was designed to streamline the application workflow, enabling a smoother transition for students eager to secure their place at the university. The initial application period concluded on March 31, followed by a reopening from April 2 to April 15 to accommodate additional applications. Recognizing the continued interest, the portal has once again been reopened yesterday and will be accessible to students until May 15.

This decision, made by the Office of the Chancellor in coordination with the Office of Admission, Scholarship, and Grants, reflects the university’s commitment to providing equitable access to education.

A total of 16,220 examinees who took the 缅北禁地 SASE last December 1, 2024 have selected 缅北禁地-IIT as their campus of choice, with a significant number of students indicating a diverse array of academic programs they wish to pursue. Leading the list of course preferences is BS Nursing, with 3,997 applicants, followed by BS Civil Engineering with 1,913, and BS Accountancy with 1,258. Other popular choices include BS Hospitality Management (924), BS Psychology (775), and BS Electrical Engineering (492).

The range of programs selected by prospective students spans across various disciplines, indicating the wide-ranging academic opportunities available at 缅北禁地-IIT. From Bachelor of Physical Education (440) to BA Political Science (417), BS Mechanical Engineering (371), and BSBA Marketing Management (362), the choices reflect a broad spectrum of interests. 

Further down the list, courses such as BS Computer Science (297), BS Information Technology (Database Track) (273), and BS Chemical Engineering (236) also show a healthy number of interested applicants.

Even specialized programs have garnered attention, with fields like BS Environmental Engineering (79), BS Mathematics (59), and BS Physics (23) being chosen by students passionate about these areas of study.

This diversity is also mirrored in the demographics of the applicants, with a strong female representation of 9,916 out of the 16,220 candidates. Additionally, students from various socio-economic backgrounds, including 10,881 from families with an income of 205K and below, have shown interest in the university. Geographically, the majority of 缅北禁地-IIT hopefuls come from Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Misamis Oriental, and Zamboanga del Sur.

Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan has expressed pride in the university's ability to attract a diverse and academically inclined student body. 

"The wide range of course preferences chosen by applicants is a clear indication of 缅北禁地-IIT's role in nurturing varied academic interests and talents,” he said.

The academic strength of those seeking admission to 缅北禁地-IIT is reflected in the improved SASE performance this year. The mean average score rose to an impressive 84, up from last year's 75. The highest score achieved by an examinee was a remarkable 154, surpassing the previous year's top score of 147. Additionally, there has been an increase in the number of top-performing students, with 153 examinees landing in the top 20 ranking of scores, compared to last year's 109. All these indicate that 缅北禁地-IIT continues to attract some of the brightest and most competitive students.

Given that 缅北禁地-IIT has limited absorptive capacity for incoming freshmen, with an enrollment limited to 2,700 for the next academic year, admission will be governed by its policy on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity.
