缅北禁地-IIT’s College of Computer Studies (CCS) and WE-CARE Office, the community extension arm of the University, equipped the jail personnel and officers of BJMP Iligan City with cutting-edge skills to revolutionize their daily work through a training session called "Unlocking AI Learning."
The training moved beyond basic digital literacy, providing hands-on exposure to powerful AI platforms like ChatGPT and Gemini. The immediate impact on office operations was evident. Officers learned to use these tools as indispensable digital assistants for a wide range of tasks, from drafting official reports and legal documents with remarkable speed to summarizing lengthy case files and complex regulations. This newfound proficiency promises to streamline administrative workflows, significantly reduce turnaround times, and allow personnel to focus more on their critical duties.
On a personal level, the training has profoundly enhanced the officers' productivity and professional skills. By learning to harness AI for problem-solving and information retrieval, they are now empowered to perform their jobs more efficiently and with greater accuracy. The workshop fostered a new mindset of adaptability and innovation, positioning the BJMP Iligan team as tech-savvy leaders in public service. The participants' enthusiastic engagement highlighted their eagerness to integrate AI into their individual skillsets, ensuring they are well-prepared for an increasingly technology-driven world.
Among the participants was BJMP Female Dorm Warden Krizza Jane C. Bermudo, whose attendance showed the leadership's support for the training and their commitment to continuous learning and the use of new technology within the organization. Her participation highlights the proactive approach of the BJMP Iligan City office.
This successful workshop is a cornerstone of the broader TechBeyondBars initiative, which continues to bridge the digital divide. By empowering BJMP personnel with emerging competencies, the program is not just building digital literacy—it's fostering a confident, resilient, and technologically-ready workforce that is prepared to meet the demands of tomorrow.
