Salary: Php 15, 208.80/month

Qualifications:
- BS Biology or
MS Biology graduate with strong background/ experience working with
Diatom Morphological Identification, Aquatic Biodiversity and
Bioinformatics handling Next-generation sequencing data
(NGS);
- Good oral and
written communication skills;
- Good
interpersonal skills/ can easily establish rapport with local
communities;
- Good computer
skills (Word processor, Excel, Photo editors);
- Swimming
skills is a plus;
- With pleasing
personality, independent and highly trainable
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare purchase and job order requests
of all items in the LIB related to the project; Coordinate with assigned
staff in admin for the preparation of the PPMP of the project;
- Perform fieldwork and aquatic
biodiversity laboratory activities.
- Perform DNA extraction from water
samples and PCR amplification;
- Send samples for quality check,
2nd PCR amplification and sequencing;
- Analyze Next-Generation Sequencing
(NGS) data using different pipelines;
- Prepare reports and papers pertaining
to the project including submission of quarterly and final reports;
- Maintain operations and safety
protocols in the laboratory;
